The closing of LS threw us all for a loop.
If not for for esto and Jerry opening sites then we'd have never managed to keep contacts going.
Then Jerry closed his site too.
That put me in motion. I had planned on a new site and had hoped to get it rolling in the fall of this year. The closing of TPF really put a crimp in things and if not for estio then I'm sure the group would have been scattered.
But estio had never envisioned his site for more than a glorified private diary and hideaway. Thanks to him that he rose to the occasion and kept everyone in touch.
Now I have the opportunity and skilled crew to build a site that will keep us all together. We all have complicated real lives, but now we have a touchstone to our old friends in virtual reality that is accessible if we can find a pc and modem. At worst, a homeless person can hit the library and check in with people who know and care about them.
Sure, I want to grow this site, but my prime focus will always be for keeping this old crew in touch with each other.
Please remind me if it looks like I ever seem to forget that pledge.

Ok, time for some updates.
We've added the board sub-links above the threads so you don't have to escape out to the index page just to see what else is new.
There are two new threads in the Lab.
First is Robbo's Roundup that mirrors his old Chaser thread at LS.
Second is my Handyman thread. It will be a help and news thread so everyone can hit me up for advice on fixing stuff around the home and office. It's not a computer thread. It's for everything else that conks out on you. I've made my living with a wrench, screwdriver, and hammer. So I'll help you through those minor irritations and I hope avoid having to call the repairman for everything that goes kaput.
I'm kind of bummed that the war discussion board is dead. I figured we had a few fans of that kind of topic. If it stays empty then I'll have to dump it.
The ribbons are in the works and should be out soon. The holidays have kept our resident artiste pretty busy lately. But we aren't starting from scratch. We have all the old LS data and images, so it will be more of a revision task.
I'm clueless why the board got sloppy last weekend. People couldn't get in. Brf has some theories, but no firm info to work on. I'm guessing it was something with the hosting. I guess that no hosting company gives flawless service. All I can say is that I'm happy now that I went with a discount hosting firm. If they all screw up from time to time then I've only lost 30 cents when they ruin a day.
That's all for now, but I'll keep you posted when something new pops up.

I am guessing our host was upgrading some of the software....
After the Santy virus went through and knocked out Cafe Tropico, our host upgraded our PHP scripting engine. I knew that happened because my game control panel stopped working until I figured out what commands I needed to change. I imagine the upgrade affected a few other things too and they might have had to patch a few other pages, causing our woes when the patches were rolled in.
