I'll be moving this thread to the Castellain's Office board this weekend.
Item One: Due to his expectant baby, estio is unable to presently perform his staff duties to his expectations and has stepped down for the time being. His job is waiting for him once he feels he's ready to devote more time. Please give estio a hand for his efforts. Him and Brf were the ones who really made up my mind to create CD after the closing of LS.
Item Two: After careful consideration, we have given CooJoe the open staffers job. While there are older members and members with more forum staff experience, we felt the size of the forum was safe to bring in someone with all the potential of being a good staffer, but never had the experience. Having a larger pool of experienced staffers will help us in the long run when the place grows. While CooJoe was my nomination, he received a unanimous decision in the staffer voting. He also has the summer break starting now and will be able to devote sufficient time to the learning curve.
Item Three: The Guild opened last night finally. Not everyone can see it. It's for Guild members. It is not a social club or reward. It is a responsibility. Guild members will not be sporting special ribbons or insignia either. It will be a place where members with both forum staffing skills and a long term track record are made members in order to help the staff in decision making about problems. Non-Guild members will be continously monitored for both time/effort served here and work on other forums/net sites. It's a grouping of "elder" responsible members, not a group of elites. Note my use of quotes on elder in the last sentence. It's not an age thing. It's about time around this group of members. There are a couple teens in the Guild. As time passes here, members who stick around and are active will be asked to join and help the staff with its decisions. Non-Guild members are still free to bring of suggestions or worries in the Castellain's Office and will be given all due consideration.
