They called me on Friday to say the pc arrived at the close of business on Thursday. No other news than that from them. So I'm still in the dark on how long this will go on.

Another weekend rolls by without a pc. :?
Seems they don't simply swap out bad parts. They return them to the distributors for replacement. So I have to wait for them to get parts shipped 2 directions. Maybe they will ship it back next week some time. Maybe.....

Some folks get a $600. laptop and use it under an umbrella on the beach. Others hide out and haunt the cyber cafes or Borders Bookstore just to have access to a computer.

They stated that the earliest would be Friday to ship it. Maybe Monday. Then 3 working days for shipping.
So figure middle to late next week.
Pc deprivation is scary thing. My head is filling up with daily commentary that I'd like to post. Instead, I'm stuck holding it in and watching inane summer re-run TV. In the 2 weeks so far, I've read 5 pulp sci-fi novels, a mystery, and 3 non fiction books, including the early history of the Hell's Angels by Hunter S. Thompson. Now I'm in a rather nasty book on the current state of militarized biological warfare in the world. All I can say is that forget nukes, we simply have nowhere to hide now. *Shudder!*
I'll be sure to fill the Literature board upon my return.

Well, I'm back.
Sortakindamaybe.
It arrived today. And some of the issues I sent it back for are not fixed.
Looks like I'll be doling out a major ass chewing on Monday for sure.
In the meantime, I've got to get all my software and drivers re-updated as the machine was reformatted at the shop. And my inbox has almost 600 entries waiting for me to wade through as well.
Busy, busy, busy, I'll be this weekend.
And then it all might go back in the box for a return.
So I'm here, but only barely at the moment. So don't go feel it's now safe to play with matches again, kiddies, as the fireman hasn't suited up yet.
