| it is a 5 book series based on king arthur. it is set in the time of roman occupation of celtic britain. the first book goes a further into the past to describe mythic atlantis and the fall of atlantis. the atlanteans that survive move onto britain. merlin arises from this. the second book goes on to describe the rise of merlin as a druid and his amazin abilities. it also describes merlins quest to find arthur pendragon, who will become Lord of the Kingdom of Summer and unite all of britain. The third book desribes the rise of arthur to bein king and his trials and tribulations as he is king. from revolts to mutinies to battling enemies and the like. i dont have the last two books as i borrowed them from the library but overall for any who like mythology and like the king arthur myth this series is for you. it gives you more of the celtic original version of the story than the british version. (although both are rather similar). it is also adds in the myth of atlantis. and it also gives the myth of the holy grail. it still manages to give a historical bent to the story describing life and battle during roman times. it blends so many types of genre beautifully in my opinion. fantasy, mythology, historical, military(ancient). |
