Most of you probably know that you can connect almost ANYONE in the movie industry to Kevin Bacon within six steps.....Scott and I are always trying to stump one another. I figured it might be a fun entertainment type game for this area.
Anyone want to throw out an actor/actress to get started? |

Okay......
Molly Ringwald was in The Breakfast Club with Alley Sheedy
Alley Sheedy (Cameo role) was in She's Having A Baby with Kevin Bacon
Sometimes it doesn't take too many steps to get to Mr. Bacon LOL. |

| I should have clarified...actor/actresses. I'm sure if I sat down and really tried I could connect him somehow, but since he's not acted in a movie, it really would take more than six steps. |

| Peter Jackson, the director of the Lord of the Rings Movies? How many connections will you get there? According to his Bio he was an uncredited extra in each of those movies too..... |

Peter Jackson directed the Lord of the Rings trilogy, which starred Sean Astin who was in White Water Summer with Kevin Bacon.
Marlon Brando was in The Freshman with Matthew Broderick, who was in She's Having a Baby with Kevin Bacon.
The other two will have to wait. |

As for Fatty Arbuckle and John Wayne, it's almost impossible to connect since they are from entire different generation, although I'm sure it could be done, I'm not up to that task.... :?
How about trying to keep it to actors/actresses from the past 50 years (yes, I know Wayne falls into that category)? LOL |

I'll give you guys a good 2 out 3 nod. Good work.
And you might try John Wayne's last two movies for connections.
McQ and The Shootist were done in the 70's and surely had some other actors that mixed with enough current actors to find that connection.
But I'll up the challenge and give you something surely as fun as it would be challenging.
Connect Kevin to any of the Three Stooges or any of the Marx Brothers and I'll crown you Kevin Bacon trivia kings. |

There is a site about this, you can also connect any two actors/actresses. Gimme a second to find it.
Here we go, The Oracle of Bacon.
Quote: The Oracle says: Roscoe 'Fatty' Arbuckle has a Bacon number of 3.
Roscoe 'Fatty' Arbuckle was in Happy Times and Jolly Moments (1943) with Gloria Swanson
Gloria Swanson was in Dream Factory, The (1975) with Eli Wallach
Eli Wallach was in Mystic River (2003) with Kevin Bacon
Quote: The Oracle says: John (I) Wayne has a Bacon number of 2.
John (I) Wayne was in How the West Was Won (1962) with Eli Wallach
Eli Wallach was in Mystic River (2003) with Kevin Bacon
Quote: The Oracle says: George C. Scott has a Bacon number of 2.
George C. Scott was in Movie Movie (1978) with Eli Wallach
Eli Wallach was in Mystic River (2003) with Kevin Bacon
Wow, Eli Wallach is a key person on those. Three years ago, it would have been longer to do the connections. William Devane, who was in Hollow Man, is another who was in movies with old-time stars.
ETA: JJ's challenge:
Moe (I) Howard was in Hugs and Mugs (1950) with Wally Rose
Wally Rose was in Murder in the First (1995) with Kevin Bacon
I'm surprised that with all the cameos in It's a Mad, Mad, Mad World, it's not shorter.
Groucho Marx was in Double Dynamite (1951) with Bill Erwin
Bill Erwin was in She's Having a Baby (1988) with Kevin Bacon |

I'd say the key to all this are the prolific character actors.
They do tons of movies just to keep working.
And the movie business would be in shambles without them.
It takes a skilled supporting cast to make a lead actor shine.
As for using that website, I'll give you an A for creativity, but that pretty much kills the game when you let the machine do it all. |

| I had no idea that thing existed, I was thinking too, that the game is dead with the introduction of that thing. LOL No biggie, it was just something I thought others might enjoy. I always like battling with Scotty as we try to figure them out from memory. |

| The site only uses credited movie acting roles. One can use the Oracle as a starting point, then make some adjustments, like saying you can't use mass-cameo movies (It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World), or no movies after 2000, or the actor/actress has to be in the first so-many of the credits. See how long it takes if you eliminate some of the long-time actors. Or, see how much shorter if you include TV shows. |
