Soon, my favorite bald assassin will be back. (In about a week, w00t)
New game modes will include:
-Ability to actually make the assassination(s) look like an accident
-Bigger multipath levels
-CQC moves (about time)
-Upgradable weapons in between missions
-Rating system now includes notoriety. If you stealth no one will recognise you, if you blast yourself through a level, the next time level police will be looking for you and civilians might recognize your face from the news.
I still consider Hitman 2 the best, but I don't see why many people didn't like Hitman Contracts. Yes it features maps from Hitman Codename 47 but remixed, better looking and with fluid controls. And not just one way to kill your target.
Eagerly waiting.

Yes! I hadn't been following this, but you've just ensured a trip to gamestop in the near future.... Played 2 and contracts, loved both. Finished both on the hardest difficulty with all Silent Assassin finishes (which was a bloody pain in the ass on some of them...especially the snowy fortress place in 2). Was working on finishing them all with all 0's in all categories, but never got more than half way through either game doing that.
Yay! |

Is this a console game?
If so, please read the board announcement thread concerning console and online games. |

Junta, I have one philosphy about games:
Shooters, RPG's, RTS & 4x games belong a pc, sports, adventure & beat-em-ups belong on a console :P
This game is a "shooter", but as much as you can call Oblivion a shooter.
You have a 3rd and 1st person view mode, but you mostly play it in 3rd person view since you are a hitman that needs to eliminate his target(s).
The cool thing about this game you figure out how. If you like to blast everyone you can do that, but you can also seek out a high place & play sniper, get close and do a silent kill, or just for instance in an operahouse level you can choose to switch the fake gun used in the play for a real one or plant a bomb on the chandelier while posing as a technician and blow it down the moment your target gets under it.

Yeah, on any given mission there are typically at least 3 ways to get to your target, not including the 'direct route.' I'd have to say my favorite hitman kill to date was getting the russian guy in the mess hall by slipping a bunch of laxative in his soup, waiting in the washroom for him to show up, and killing him quietly and out of site while he was on the toilet.
My favorite mission, however, was the one on the english estate. I don't remember all the stuff you had to do (it was like, kill two people and rescue somebody), put poisoning the horses water supply so they wouldn't make noise when you broke into the stable was classic.
The best part of that game is that you're rewarded, with ratings and tallies at the end of each mission (both mission stats and cumulative) as well as bonus weapons, for not drawing undue attention to yourself. It counts every single shot fired. For most missions, you can only get Silent Assassin rating if you get 1 or 0 tallies in any category--which includes shots fired, innocents (or enemies--i.e. guards) killed, alerts (basically having someone recognize that you're not supposed to be where you are), and so on. Can't recall the other categories off hand. |

2 targets, 1 guy to free.
Ended up throwing a case of gas through the chimney to kill son drinking whiskey at the nice warm fireplace while sniping dad from the barn before he went to bed in his room. Didn't get the silent assassin rating though, the explosion caused a little commotion. Maybe next time I'll kill the butler & serve him some poisoned whiskey instead.

To get silent assassin you can't kill the butler...just knock him out, take his clothes, serve the poisened whiskey. Dad can be killed by strangling him from behind when he gets out of bed to use the washroom or whatever it is he's doing and hiding the body. If you snipe dad that can cost SA as well because of the shot fired (though you're ok if you don't fire any other shots or get seen, etc).
Ya, you can't get SA with the gas can because you kill too many people, if I recall correctly. |

I agree. Games that have a pc edition can be labeled normally, no matter if they have additional console or online status.
The "law" isn't weird. I had actually set this board up as a pc games only area originally.
With some begging and pleading on the members' part, I expanded it to those other style games as long as they followed my caveat.
You need to remember that many members here don't mess with console and online games. By properly labeling them those members can simply ignore those topics. |

What? All the hitman games have been PC...and I'm pretty sure the earlier ones weren't available on console. |

No no, it's a PC franchise. Search Hitman: Codename 47, Hitman: Silent Assassin, and Hitman: Contracts to find all the other titles.
Incidentally, I found something a little scary when I googled 'Hitman' :
hitman.us
From the site: Quote: HITMAN offers a variety of assassination services and contract killing options. We are the industry leader in innovative killing techniques and manage a network of freelance assassins on five continents, available on short notice, around the clock. Next time you have a problem, remember: our contract killers are waiting for your call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. |

I should have known not to trust wal-mart for stuff, anyway, never played any of the other hitmans, but thinking about blood money, they always looked so damn awsome.
I also love parts in video games were the more quite you are at sneaking the better your rewards, several games have levels like this nowadays, kinda cool where an entire game can sorta be bassed soley on that. |

And yet if everything goes to pot you can still pull out a pair of pistols, or uzi's, or a sawed-off, and blast your way out of trouble!
Another highlight I just remembered from contracts was planting a tracking device on a car with a nuke in the back, breaking into the place the dutch SWAT guys were hanging out in, mugging one of them and taking their outfit and rifle, getting into position to raid the boat (onto which the bomb-carrying car was loaded), raiding it with the police (at which point someone arms the bomb and threatens to detonate it if the police don't let him get away), sneaking down to were the bomb is and disarming it, and then sniping the dude with the detonator.
That was fun. Nothing quite like being in on a police raid when you're actually an assassin with a totally different agenda. |
