I just reinstalled both the Sims 2 and the Sims 2 University on my computer due to a format. Now it seems that I cannot import music into the game. I even went to the Sims 2 website and pulled the FAQ for this topic and followed what they said and got nothing.
Anybody else have this problem before? |

| I think only Jorenne played the Sims. Use the forum email link and drop her a note. She's been too quiet of late anyway. |

I assume you mean like a playlist or mp3s of your own choosing.
I got this from about.com...
Add your own mp3's to "The Sims 2" radio stations.
You aren't stuck with the music that Maxis included for "The Sims 2." You can add your own music for the radio, buy mode, and build mode.
To use your own mp3's, you need to copy the mp3 file to:
My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2\Music\[subfolder]\
The subfolder will be either the type of music station or the buy or build mode. If your music does not play right away in the game through the radio, you can have your Sim skip the song.
Let me know if this does or doesn't work. I think if you put a playlist, (filename.pls) it might also take it, but I'm not sure if it works in the Sims 2. It did in the Sims 1. |

That's what the FAQ on the website said. I go into the audio settings and I can't even see the new songs. It's like they don't exist even though they are in the right folder.

Update:
Wait...do they have to be MP3s? I have WMAs. |

| They might have to specifically be mp3s. Can you try it with one? |

I really hope that EA Games releases a patch that will let The Sims 2 read and play WMAs. Almost everything that you download from Napster for $0.99 is in WMA format. All my songs are WMAs. This is pissing me off.
I also just installed Nightlife and nearly everything that I've imported is gone. What the hell? |

| Well not sure if someone said this, but a perfectly simply one to get it into mp3 format from downloading from napster is to burn the song to a CD-RW if you can, then rip it using windows media player, but make sure you set the rip settings to mp3 and not wma. |
