For anyone who may have watched Rock Star INXS the runner up, Marty Casey, has a new CD out just recently that is pretty good. I recomend checking it out.

Marty was excellent in that show.

Actually, that whole show was terrific. It pretty much saved my summer tv season for me.

I figure there will be more Rock Star series, but the lure of getting into a major label band made the entrants try even harder. I hope another band of similar caliber steps into the breach. Perhaps Eddie Van Halen will realize that dumping Sammy Hagar was a bad move to bring back Screecher Whatshisface. Last thing I want is to watch a bunch of losers try to land the job of Hootie in the Blowfish band.

Susie doing Bohemian Rhapsody was a singular rock moment in my life. And I even saw Elvis in the 70's. Toss in the Stones and Pink Floyd to my concert list as well. That's how good that song was to see.

I'm guessing that Marty released his Trees tune on this CD. It was a pretty good original song. He definitely has good creative talent. He's far more than just a pretty voice.

I'll have to drop by the music store and sample it soon.

The Lovehammers cd is good, and yes, Trees is on there. Overall, I like every song on the cd, which is rare for me in today's market of new bands. I seldom buy a cd where I enjoy every song on the cd, so this is a rare pleasure for me.

Rumor, and boy do I emphasis rumor, is that Van Halen may be the new Rock Star group doing it. If so to be honest, I would rather hear the losers sing Van Halen songs than INXS, but that is just because I did not know many INXS songs before the show. After the show, I started appreciating them more.

Back to the Van Halen rumor, as far as I know I don't think there is an official saying, only hearsay and there PR manager saying he will no longer deny the fact they may do it. If it happens, I will be glued even more to the set.

There are so many bands though that needs a lead singer that it could be interesting what pops up; Alice in Chains back together, the Doors, ECT.

In the end, I see it being rather hard getting many people to do the show, but in the end, I did not like the last show because INXS was doing, Dave Navaro, or the beautiful Brooke. I watched for the chance to see raw talent that sang songs I love and some I grew up on, and in the end I honestly could say could care very little what band is the one looking for a singer, but it being a band I love, like Van Halen, doesn’t hurt.

Yeah, the ending of the competition wasn't the draw for me. It was the songs on the show and the singers getting better every week.

But give INXS some credit in that they really coached that group quite well. It bore no relation to that Idol contest of simply cutting the group down every show. The Rock Star contestants were coached, trained, and constructively critiqued each week. I see bright careers for at least half of the contestants.

Now while doing a Van Halen version would be terrific, I'm wondering how well Eddie and Alex will be at working and coaching with the contestants.

Of course, if they get that same "house" band again then all will be outstanding.

That house band was amazing. Does anyone know who they were and if they have any cd's out?

I think that house band was just the band that played at the bar they were at, I assumed it was some bar/joint/some place where people go to play that had that band as regulars... but maybe I wrong I don't know for sure
