Yep, our first year has passed........and no one bought the staff any cake or beer! :(


Ok, you bunch of selfish slugs ( :P ), we making quite a few changes here in the next month or so.

First up is the Anniversary Award. It has the Roman numeral one on it and will be given out as members pass whole years of membership. The number will change as your years pass here.

Next up is the Senior Quill Award. Brf is currently sporting it. It's for those who are responsible for many creative contributions. Given the normal Quill Award will become standard for all who GM a TWG game, I felt a next level was in order for those who have gone far beyond that level.

Soon to arrive will be the Outside Merit Ribbon. This will be given out to those who do serious work elsewhere online at other websites and forums. We intend to set the bar fairly high here so that recipients can feel rewarded for sometimes very thankless effort to make the internet an interesting and safe place. The staff will be looking at member websites for creativity, skill, and traffic. We will also consider work done as staff at other forums should the member submit links and contacts for review.

These three ribbons are part of an enlargement of the Participatory section of rewards as reflects our shift in focus to that type of reward. The concept of "been there" was the focus of the Membership section of the awards and doesn't reflect our priority on activity and contribution.

Given that focus shift, we are culling 6 Membership ribbons from the main ribbon bars over the next month. This has been a plan here for quite some time, but it has met mixed review. We have come to a compromise and created micro ribbons for those and tucked them down at the bottom. Thus, members will still be able to display their past memberships, but can't swell their main ribbon bars with membership fluff. Members who see their ribbon bars shrink alarmingly should consider looking to the Participatory section for rebuilding their prestige.

We should also be finally getting proper rank avatars for the upper ranks.

Last, you might see that you might not have received all you feel that you rate. Please hold your request until the New Year announcement of complete transition to the new system. It will take us time to add, subtract, and shift everything for all the members. A little patience is requested.
