How about a 3rd person shooter slash strategy game in "da hood"?

It's called 25-to-Life. That being the non-capital prison sentence for 1st degree murder.

You decide whether to start out your character as a rookie cop or initiate gang banger and shoot your way to the top of the heap.

Eidos Interactive schedules their release in October this year and had this to say about it:

25 to Life is the game the streets have been waiting for.

Play as either cops or gangsters, in this urban action third person shooter. The game delivers intense Online gameplay for up to 16 players, as well as a rich single player experience. Witness the gritty lifestyles of police task forces or as an iced out gangster! Survive the local neighborhood thugs while fighting your way up the ranks. Oh God, spare me another -urban/hiphop/R&B/gangsta- game.

I swear I'd rather jump off a cliff and sue Microsoft for making me believe I can fly then to play another one of those games.

Hell, I don't want to be in a 25 km radius from those games.

there is still creativity in it, if done right. I mean almost every game out know in some degree is a rip off of another game, or a same feeling storyline, it's all about the style they pull off the game with that matters.
