Quote: PopTop Software, the developers of the Tropico series and Railroad Tycoon 2 and 3, turn their focus onto a much darker subject matter with Shattered Union, a turn-based strategy wargame in which players fight as one of many warring factions in an attempt to reunify the United States fractured by a second civil war.
(Also note, it is for PC and XBox, I sincerly hope the PC version isnt dumbed down because of the Xbox)
Ah, PopTop (do do do do do, do! Obligatory Tropico reference). At it once again with their creativity and marvelous cutscenes.
It looks pretty good, I like Strategy games. Plus, I hope to be able to mod the game in order to make California into the a name of m own choosing. "Dominion of SC" anyone?

Giant tanks or small cities is the question posed by myself, and my local PC mag :P (Each unit represents a battalion apparently)

And PS2. I doubt dumbed down, but I'm not too confident about mouse control vs joystick. Then again it is turn based...

Frankly, those graphics are not that impressive considering the offerings these days. It looks and sounds like a barely fluffed version of the old Panzer General 3D with a new premise.
Hell, I just quit playing Stronghold 2 as weak and it has better graphics than the PopTop screenshot.
Unless the game has some complicated strategy elements then it is a lame duck already. |
