Putting people in the proper groups will have to be even later, I probably have to get off in 15 minutes or so.

I noted that DrJoshuaFalken did go back and update his sign in before the curtain dropped, but his name didn't make the list.

News Update & Reminder

All roles have been sent out.

Yes, the game thread is still locked... it will be until game starts.

For those of you who have things to do at night (wolves, seer, GA), don't forget you need to PM me and tell me what you're doing the first night -before- game starts.

I chose here because I wanted to leave Muji's last note in the main game thread untouched for all to see.

It's a shame that RL is intruding on your fun, Muji, but it happens. Don't let a game ruin your life. We all hope things work out well for you soon.

Regardless of your untimely exit, I would personally like to thank you for your efforts. The forum is a happy bustling place with lots of new blood. You invited a whole big group of people who have been all, to a person, fun and polite. Getting 25+ people at once is usually a recipe for chaos and disaster when personalities collide. Not so this time, I very happy to say. Big kudos to you.

We'll be having fun here, thanks to you, when you get a chance to get back.

As for Darkness, I'll second your choice. She's put up with a couple awkward situations here right off the bat with good humor. It shows she has strong character. I'm sure she'll do a good job.

I'll still award you the Quill Award for helping everything get set up and rolling. I'm sure that any successor will find the job easier due to your efforts. We'll get Darkness the ribbon too for stepping into the breach with no warning. I'll be sure to watch your chat area thread to monitor its rise. You may wish to sneak on occasionally to nudge it along.

To Darkness, I figure you can run the game fine. But you now have 5 new controls at the bottom left of the thread page: Lock, split, merge, etc. You also have the ability to make threads normal, sticky, and announcement on the post page. Please feel free to create a dummy thread with a few posts to experiment. You can dump it in the archives when you feel comfortable. Be sure to drop Brf or I a pm if you have trouble working with these tools.

And I'll still be around, I just can't be counted on to do nights at proper times (or even proper days). Hopefully things will quiet down soon, and I'll definitely GM another game some other time when things have gone back to normal.

As for Darkness, she's been playing a long time, and she has experience GMing. I'm sure she'll make a fine GM. In a way, I'm glad she died. :P

I'll deal with the details of her becoming GM tomorrow, and I'll talk to Brf if anything needs to be done, since he's the one that set everything up.

I'd be happy to do it for you, but that would mean violating the live zone and so I've refrained.

Perhaps when we go to a new game and use daily threads then this will become moot.

Just try to remember as best you can and I'll remind you here when you don't. Otherwise, your work has been terrific.

Did a little house cleaning. I ask either Muji or Darkness to go into the Masons and Wolves boards and empty them into the archives.

More of these threads will go, but I've kept ones that may have info to grab for the master game thread.

I'm looking to start the game with a master info thread, a news thread (probably keep this one), sign-up sheet, and the 6K Leagues lounge. Of course anyone can still start a thread in this board if they have comments or questions. I just want to be able to sweep it all clean after each of the games except those four.

The Dead board will get emptied every time, as will the Masons and the Wolves. The Live player board will have the same treatment as soon as we can get poor Brf's thread to 100 so he can have the same number of ribbons I do. So this, ultimately will be the only board with permanent threads and they will number 4.

Btw, I think everyone liked the idea of daily threads in the Live board and we'll start that practice in game 2.

I declare the Rack to be clean to my satisfaction and the Master page done.

I believe that now we have everything down to a system that will make finding everything fast and avoiding the potential for missing something important because there will only be a few places to check.

You can still start a thread in the Rack for questions or suggestions about the game. Just expect the thread to be swept out to the archives at the end of the current running game. If the thread results in a decision for a new method for doing things here then we will update the Master page accordingly before archiving the discussion thread.

I will be moving back the Roles thread... that should be more of an ad hoc discussion of possible new roles. As such, it belongs here as a permanent thread.
