I dont know about you guys, but my jaw dropped when I first saw the trailer for this movie.

Its based on the graphic novel series written by Frank Miller, who also shares a directors credit. Director Robert Rodriguez left the directors guild so he would be able to give Miller the credit.

Shot (mostly) in black in white, there are splashes of color here and there to emphasize certain points, and it looks amazing.

It barely missed the NC-17 mark too. And that was for violence, never mind the other stuff too

heres a link to a website called Rotten Tomatoes that gathers a bunch of reviews and other sources and centralizes it for convience.

I heard about this weeks ago.

Any show that has Miss Alba in revealing attire get my vote of hotty excellence.

Getting her as a stripper means the rest of the cast can simply show up for their paychecks. :P

Whoa! What a movie!

Two thumbs up!

And waiting for video just won't do.

The "noir" aspect is designed for the big screen.

The girls are all HOT! The guys are true grit. And everyone is as tough as nails.

It's a pretty rough setting when the machine gun toting hookers are the nicest folks around. :P

The cast is huge too. Great stars just falling over themselves to be in it. And not the Hollywood "beautiful" people either. I mean the good actors. And they all try hard to make their short parts dramatic.

The vingnette method of this movie works terrific. Most vignette movies are hapless comedies about NY suburbanites that I could care less if I saw. In a wild flick like this, it keeps it fresh. They could start a series and do 20 of these films and people would line up 20 years from now.

Word of warning. This movie is just plain rough. Like as in A Clockwork Orange kind of rough. Like as in Pulp Fiction rough. Like as in Resevoir Dogs rough. Remember my comment about the hookers if you will. People die ugly a lot and the camera doesn't stop or flinch. Nor does it have that unbelievable gore factor in cheap horror films that is more about grossness. This is about pain, fear, and hate. These people are just plain mean to the bone. The weak need not go.

On a last note, Jessica Alba can lasso me any day.

You'll see what I mean.

Go see this movie! Pay full price and buy the expensive popcorn and sodas! Use the valet parking at the best cinema in town on a Friday night!

It's worth every last nickel.

Only a wuss would wait for the DVD. :P

I agree, what an amazing movie

Joe's not kidding either. The violence in this movie is just plain vicious.

If you think you've seen everything, go see the movie and wait for the scene with Jackie Boy in Old Town or when Bruce Willis removes Yellow Bastards weapon

I give it two thumbs up :D
