Alternately, will somebody tell me what a Knight Bachelor is?

Knight Bachelors were low level knights that were off probation status, but not landed yet.

They were called bachelor because they were not yet married to the land by their lord.

Thus giving you the temporary freedom to go tilt at windmills before you get saddled with responsibility.

I think you can figure out how to have fun with that, right?

The rest of the knight ranks will only show a shield of some sort.

I had an idea for what I wanted, but had a lot of trouble getting it to look good squished down to an avatar, just like the ribbons. I chose the color kind of at random. If you guys think it would look better in a different color we can try that too.
