I saw batman twice last weekend. It's just that good. See it, it'll put a smile on your face.

I was wondering when someone was going to touch on this

Coojoe's right. It is probably the best superhero movie made to date (in my opinion)

Batman was crowded. So I saw Hellboy instead. Campy fun there.

Batman was good ... not one of my absolute fave hero movies, though. Certainly makes the top 5 list.

My cousin and I spent about a week quoting the Joker at work.

I quoted the "If you're good at doing something line" before mowing the lawn and it netted me a free sub for lunch

Finally saw it.

It actually lived up to the hype. I was impressed.

Totally worth the ticket price and definitely my style of movie.

I like the gritty and grim aspect that doesn't follow the canned formula.

Ledger's performance was the best in his life and I was always a fan after A Knight's Tale. Of course, I chose to totally ignore his little cowboy tale as something actors do to "break their stereotype".

I can see why many want to give him a posthumous Academy Award.

He did precisely what villain supporting actor is supposed to do. He was the perfect sort of evil source for the protagonist.

I had been expecting to see merely a usual good performance out of him and that would be tied to the Hollywood angst over his death. Fanboys have a bad habit of that kind of idolization.

But no, he really did a job superior to his usual quality and made the movie setting darkly perfect. Imo, he would have won the nomination anyway if he had lived. Of course some artsy film actor would have bagged it then just to show their elitism. So if Heath gets it now it will be a Holly-political matter that would have blocked him if he lived. Fair is fair there.

Back to the movie, they clearly set the stage for a sequel. I sincerely hope they wait long enough to get it right and not just crank one out to get the cash. Every time some studio tries to start a Batman movie series it suffers from this. The first one is good and the sequels go formula to collect the cash. I've seen every "first" movie of the Batman series and very few of the others because the critics always pan them as money grabs.

Saw an interesting preview too there for the Watchmen.

Well Christopher Nolan is signed for one more Batman as director, Christian Bale for two more playing as Batman. The rumor mills have been flying on possible new villians as the riddler, penguin, or catwoman. I read somewhere though Nolan wanted to do Batman villians no one had heard of, so guess will see.

I do know Nolan said he would never use Robin in his film.

I really want to see how Nolan will do the riddler. I imagine he'll be a jigsaw type character putting Batman in various moral quandaries, then again The Joker had that same kind of angle.

Good

As for Catwoman and the Penguin, I know either Nolan or one of the producers refuses to do the two villians

People had mentioned Angleina Jolie as Catwoman, well that she had said she had intrest in it, they could do another movie, anything can be better than the orignal.

Phillip Seymore Hoffman was rumored as penguin, and Johhny Depp as the Riddler.

All of them overall I could see, but if Nolan wants to do villans the movie goers havn't seen then all three are scraped for at least the next movie.

The Riddler role could be turned around like the Joker was.

The psychopath who likes leaving a complicated hint trail. Like a vicious stalker murderer who is planning a very high profile murder, but decides to start killing people early and leaving riddle hints at these mundane murders, along with nasty trap surprises, so that it builds to a pre-announced murder of someone like the mayor.

Yeah, I can do that Hollywood script stuff. Ain't nothin' but a thang. ;)

I think Johhny could be good, but the whole riddler role in general if done as good as the new Joker could be very good too. We will have to see won't we?
