Oh yeah!
So anyone remember the campy original? I loved it.
So now they are trying to make a serious and big budget version!
Jason Statham of the Transporter series is the perfect choice for the protagonist role.
They will use a bit of the Escape from New York and original Mad Max themes as they use a city sized penal system and cars right out of Road Warrior history.
Should be a blast!

Lulz! This movie was a blast!
The plot was rushed and thin as tissue. The acting was marginally better than a soap opera. Stereotypes and cliches abounded. The set was environmentally friendly as everything was recycled.
I loved it! It was a trashy fun movie that raced to it's 99 minute finish.
While different in plot and tone, it really grasped the spirit of the old 70's movie. If it seemed fun they just jammed it in. It all worked if it led up to some blistering explosion or bloody fight. Creative license? These guys were operating on court suspended cards!
It's trashy simple fun. I left with a big grin and the knowledge that I somehow forgot since the last version, that I really need a navigator! :cheesy:
Natalie Martinez will work just fine. ;)
60 second clip of her making her entrance:

Lot's of navigators out there, boys, but this one's mine.
She'll even sit in your lap while you hit the NOS button and lay rubber for a quarter mile.
You just don't see that kind of gift in your average hottie. ;) |
