One caveat: Maxis did not make this game
That being said, this is an odd little game. It does away with the classic simcity style of game play of laying zones and waiting for them to develope. Instead it adds more of a simtown feeling of placing each individual building as you see fit, in a balancing act of sims, jobs to fill and venues for the sims to blow off steam
It gives you several building types to choose from, from small town, industrial, cyberpunk and big brother authoritarian (among others) and each building has to fill requirements to function, like production, wealth, spiritual, or education to name a few, although buildings also produce said requirements
The game is largely sand box, as are most of the Sim titles, though there are goals to achieve and buildings to unlock which give it some kind of direction
My two quams are this: the frame rate and the town's inevitable layout
The framerate fluxes and drops considerably and my machine, while aging, is well above the recommended specs. The game functions in a 3-D engine and there is just too much for it to think about at one time
Secondly, without the zoning of the last game, the towns just end up...odd looking. This could probably be averted with better planning on my part, but I see it becoming an odd issue
The game only cost me $19.99 so if you like this style of gameplay, by all means try it out |

So have I but frankly, its not that bad, other than being a serious resource hog and fairly formulaic once you figure it out
