I ran across an interesting online game:
WoW II
The game currently has a small player-base... about 75 signed-up players.
I suspect that less than half are actually active.
It is about a war between Britain and Germany.
The game uses 1-hour ticks, so it is not a fast-paced game.
Each side has a wide select of units and weapons.
Units and weapons require the use of research and construction trees, before they are available to build.
Attacks are not instantaneous, but have a time delay.
If you log-in using guest as your username and guest as your nation... it is possible to get a good view of what the game is about.
If anyone decides to play, please use my referral link:

This will cause me to receive an in-game bonus of land... a precious commodity in WoW II.
BTW, I'm playing on the German side. |

OK, the round has ended.
I came in 10th over-all.
Not bad, since I started late and had
to play catch-up.
A new, regular round will not e starting, until
after the holidays.
A special speed round is starting on Saturday. |

OK, speed round ended, and it was hectic.
Ticks were every 4 minutes, instead of the usual 1 hour.
I ended 5th over-all, and 2nd among the German players.
I took a couple of hard knocks at the beginning, but stuck
it out, until my Tigers and ME-262's started rolling of the
production lines. |
