I received an e-mail from Ebay saying my account has been suspended because there have been attempts to access it from other locations around the world, specifically Romania
Now heres my question: Ebay warns against using your email adress as your sign-in (which I did because I'm lazy). They do this to warn against fraudulant emails. Now, I was able to access my account today, but I am still worried about this possible threat to my account
What should I do? |

| First question, was the email addressed to YOU, using your full name, or did it say something like "Dear valued eBay member"? |

What Nibby is referring to is a possible fake warning to get you to send info to them or to open something that contains a keylogger.
Run all your anti-malware immediately, change your eBay log-in, and go directly to their support center to ask about this. Don't respond through an email link. |

Yup. I get those EBay warning Emails all the time, and I dont even have an Ebay account.
If you ever get an Email like that from ebay., go to the EBay website and click the Security link near the bottom. Then you can forward them the EMail.
Never click any of the links in one of those Emails. Always use your old links or type the www.ebay.com into your browser addressbar. |

If it was REALLY from eBay, they'd use your full name. Otherwise, it's phishing. The other site might LOOK like eBay, but there'll be something off, in the url or in the look. They'll be after your id and password and other information.
I'm surprised you don't know this. Shocked, even. |

| But it's not just malware. The sites are set up to steal the information you enter. I've had my Yahoo! ID hijacked that way. The page LOOKED like a Yahoo! "confirm your ID before continuing" page. Fortunately, they send an email when you, or anyone, change your password. |
