We bought a new mini-dvd digital camcorder a few months ago, and I decided to sell the one I bought a few years back and hardly used. If anyone is looking for a good bargain, check out my sale.

(I hope it's okay to post this here....)

The wife has been selling on e-bay... for years. It gives her an excuse to attend estate sales.

Boy, you see all those infomercials about getting rich on ebay.

Can someone really make that work starting from scratch?

My uncle does...he builds computers, and has sales/parts listed on ebay all the time.

While I think it's good for my personal use to sell an item or two, I don't think I could ever go out and buy things strictly to sell them on ebay.

I need to have a yard sale, but our city requires permits and has specific laws regarding what you can and can't do...this seems easier to just list the junk we don't need and see if it sells versus going through all the red tape with the city and dragging crap into the yard.

Now I can see promoting the occasional sale of leftovers and selling stuff you make as worthwhile.

But I'm wondering about trying to sell newly made goods you purchase for sale.

Seems like there would be tons of competition just selling the same stuff and cutting each other's prices.

E-bay is an excellent source for buying books... the competition works in the buyer's favor.

Good e-bay sellers also make some money on the shipping.

Collectors, who know their speciality, can make great buys.

The wife buys collectibles at estate ssles... a lot of rich folk dispose of stuff with a professional company doing the selling.

Estates sales are good for antiques and near-antiques, too.

My step-brother's step-brother started a business in Rockford....he posts things on E-Bay for people and takes like 36% of the sale.... What a cool scam

We have several companies that do it.

All seem like small outfits.

One of My cousin's frat brothers bought 5 Ipod Minis, on sale at a department store, for 200, and waited for the stores to run out.

He sold them on Ebay ranging from 600-800 bucks.

Mostly to people in countries that couldn't get them.

Well, my auction ended a few minutes ago. I had set a reserve of 65.00 bucks...all I really expected to get on a five year old (but in near new condition!) video camera. I ended up getting $137.50 so not a bad chunk of change on something that was sitting around the house collecting dust!!!!!!! LOL

It seems that some careful buying in the fall might be a way to cash in on the Xmas rush for hot ticket items.

How long does the auction over page last on Ebay anyway? I was thinking of pasting and saving the ebay numbers so that I may access them anytime later for reference.
