| I dont really enjoy wargames that much, although some sort of competition with other players makes the game more fun. |

| Do you think that the CN combat system is more than you prefer? |

| I dunno... I suppose it depends on the context of the game. I dont really care much for the anyone-can-attack-anyone-at-any-time systems. |

I agree, there should be limits on attacking other players.
I do not like it when someone beats upon a much weaker opponent.
Plus, I believe that attacks/wars should serve a purpose besides people just getting their jollies off on bullying players.
I favor something where wars are fought over resources. |

| Yes. Stealing resources and land isnt so bad, as long as it is limited by geography, or time or something. |

Actually, I like it where both geography and time are a factor.
Of course, this pretty much means that some kind of map is required.
Wars should be fought against you "neighbors".
Also, I like it when there is a time-lapse to reach your target.
I never really like games that had instantaneous attacks. |

| That is one of the things I like about Astro Empires... You have a map and it takes you time to get places. I would think you should be able to setup blockades though. That is one thng that is lacking in AE, you cannot attack a fleet while it is in motion. |

Exactly, it is probably my favorite feature in AE. Much better than the E:2025 system used in so many online games.

I have never understood why Xamen and Wizard have not added some type of naval blockade to AE. Maybe, that is what pillaging trade routes is suppose to reflect.

This is a common practice in sci-fi. Frequently, the means to go from Point A to Point B... involves something that prohibits inter-action between ships/fleets. |

OK Brf, I have a challenge for you :P
I figured out what I want
A "insert political entity of choice" sim, that uses CN and CE as its templates.
The Worlds of War II combat system... suitably modified.
An in-game forum component, better than AE.
That ought to be easy :headbang:  |
